The ‘No Ifs. No Butts’ initiative is an inclusive approach to reducing cigarette littering. The campaign is part of a larger initative to prevent cigarette littering which involves the installation of Smartbins to make it more convenient for people to dispose of their cigarette butts properly.
633 bins have been installed in the City of London, 272 have been installed on lamp posts and sign posts and 89 have been installed on walls and railings across 361 locations.
Cigarette litter in the City has fallen by 64% (Source: City of London smoking related litter hotspot survey), resulting in over 27 million pieces of smoking related litter and gum kept off the pavements in the City each year.
